| Day | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| 1 | Appearance = Slightly Puffy to Swollen: Eye condition may be slightly puffy to swollen, heavy lids, light sensitivity, and it's possible to see bloodshot eyes. Sleeping in an elevated position will help reduce swelling. |
| 2 | Potentially Swollen and Crusty: Eyes may be swollen and a bit “crusty”. The swelling will reduce after being in an upright position for a little while. Avoid heavy lifting, physical exertion, and crying. |
| 3 | Reduced Swelling: Eyes will be less swollen but will remain feeling tight. The lash area will feel sore if touched. |
| 3-4 | Flaking: The top layer of skin will begin to flake off in small stitch-like lines. In some cases, the exfoliation may not be noticeable. Do not pick – pigment will be removed, causing the eyeliner color to heal unevenly. It is important to never pick at it or rub the eyes during the period of exfoliation. |
| 7-9 | Exfoliation Period Complete: All flaking or shedding should be complete. Showering is now safe. The pigment may appear to have faded but this is temporary and a normal part of the healing process. |
| 10 | Appearance = Near Complete Healed Result: The appearance will be close to the healed result. Much of the pigment color should return within a month. Although color has returned, the following touch-up appointment is still recommended to correct naturally occurring imperfections and to ensure the best color installation. It is important to have the following touch-up appointment scheduled in advance, preferably within 6-8 weeks of the initial procedure appointment. |
